The most talked about motorcycle route in Thailand and one of the top ten rides in the world the 'Mae Hong Son Loop' and the 'road of never ending hairpins'.  If you only ride Thailand once then join us on this stupendous motorcycle tour. Not that this route is not spicy enough on it's own as normal for us we have added a few 'extra' sections to make it fiery hot!

6 day holiday £560.00

There are actually two loops classed as the 'Mae Hong Son loop one being the short one and the longer one.  This tour is the longer one with a few added sections off the main loop creating a comfortable tour of around 1100 kilometers.  Tarmac all the way however during November and February we have included a small section (roughly 40 kilometers) along the Burma Border on an unclassified road of hard gravel maybe a few potholes and ruts here and there.  Tour bikes included are the Kawasaki Super Motard which are perfectly suited for the bumpy sections and the tight twisty bends.  As with all our tours this tour is suitable for all experienced riders who enjoy an outrageous rollercoaster of a ride!

A 6 day 5 night holiday including 4 full days biking, plus leisure time in Chiang Mai city.

Day 1:  Meet & Greet...

Arrive Chiang Mai airport where our staff will collect you and transfer you to your mid range hotel close to the city center.  This evening you have the option to join our staff for a city tour around Chiang Mai and to see the relaxed nightlife this ancient city has to offer.

Day 2:  Who's in charge of The Barbecue?

Starting around 8:30 we leave the city riding North towards the the rugged north west province of Mae Hong Son one of the largest provinces in Thailand and one of the least populated.  Hitting the famed 1095 just 20 minutes from Chiang Mai we will literally be negotiating around 1600 mighty hairpin bends and switchbacks today working our way up to 1700 meters to the Burma/Thai border.  Tonight we stay in small individual lodgings (not camping but close to it)  along the Burmese border and with the assistance of the Royal Thai Army we stoke up the fire for an evening of succulent pork steak prepared in the traditional method and cooked in fresh bamboo. A barbecue without beer is unthinkable so after our meal we can relax under the stars in a delightfully remote location.

Day 3:  Heading Southwards

After yesterday we can almost guarantee the trip would have taken it out of you (just a little bit) so, today we will pace it down a fraction spending the day visiting the numerous hill tribe villages in this location.  Lisu, lahu and karen hill tribe villages  and a ride on the back roads bordering the Kachin state of Burma.  Tonight we have upgraded the accommodation from last night with a more traditional accommodation and fantastic food fit for king! (and we wont have to cook it ourselves!)

Day 4:  Salawin River

Early start today for a peach of a ride arriving at our planned destination to check in at around lunch time then straight out for a bumpy ride back up to the border of Burma again but this time alongside the giant Salawin River.  Today is a great day but with the options to take a boat trip down the Salawin possibly sharing the boat with up to 30 buffalo* or making a photographic day as this region offers one of the best regions in NW Thailand for snapping the photogenic people and countryside of this region.  Dinner this evening alongside the Mae Moei river.  Anyone for fresh river fish?

Day 5:  To the Peak of the Highest point in Thailand

Another early start as we head out back into Chiang Mai via Thailand's highest mountain, huge waterfalls and although we stay on the twisties today offers more of the stupendous riding roads with perfect swooping bends.  Arriving into Chiang Mai late afternoon/early evening in time for a shower and a farewell dinner to end a great motorcycle tour of  around 1100 kilometers

Day 6:  Depart

Our staff will transfer you to CNX international airport for your onward journey and hope to see you again in Thailand soon.
